Background: To say Marvin's childhood was of little note is to understate the matter. In point of fact, until the age of 14, Marvin was a perfectly ordinary young boy. At the age of 14, Marvin saw his first pair of nice female breasts, and never turned back. Fortunately due to the situation(specifically that only one overly conservative mother -to the point of demanding castration- out of all involved being notably perturbed by the specifics of the situation), Marvin managed to be acquitted of the charges. This would mark the start of a life of perversion involving several acts earning him the nickname Maverik - itself an extension of "Mav," a mangled version of the shorthand for his real name which had followed him since childhood. After his brush with the courts, though, Maverik DOES keep sufficient restraint to avoid crossing the line between "flirting" and "harassing."

Despite this, he did end up in Juvie court one more time at age 16, just days after his dad gave him his first car for his birthday, and again acquitted - Jumping out in front of a car doesn't help anybody except the driver when he faces the judge.

Mav graduated high school and spent 7 years in college to become a psychiatrist - a career which didn't last long before it was ended by an accusation of sexually harassing a patient. Maverik denies the allegations as slander, and there is actually quite a bit of evidence to support the claim.... But let's just say having a bench trial helmed by an ex-Juvie judge who saw you several times before is not going to have the evidence taken in the highest regard.

Fortunately justice CAN prevail - Ignoring the evidence is an offense that can get one disbarred. Perhaps Judge Doubtfire should have taken into account that Mav is not some braindead rapist douche - the guy has the degrees to legally practice psychiatry, remember. Unfortunately, while the disbarment did repair some of the credibility that the whole scene had caused, Mav was not able to overturn the ban on being allowed to practice psychiatry. Only reduce it from permanent down to ten years.

Mav intended to spend the subsequent year taking a break, living off the money from the wrongful prosecution settlement he subsequently obtained, and planning what to do in the ten years before he go back to his chosen profession, but a good friend had an offer that just made too much sense to ignore.

Mav had made friends online with a man named Xero Prime(named Rudolf Lasik at the time they met), who had a much rougher life than Mav had. Despite this, it was Xero's encouragement that helped Mav through the rough spot during the trial, so when Xero offered him a job as PR director for his AMA Road Racing efforts, Maverik jumped at the chance, and settled in to the job quite well. In addition to the PR work, he has also brokered a few deals to help improve the program, including getting a better engine supplier in Xero's second Supersport season that launched him to the championship two years in a row. As the story begins, Maverik is currently working on getting some factory bikes to improve Xero's Daytona Sportbike effort...

Special Notes: Mav was messing around with Xero and Jen when the event occurred, and like the two of them their proximity to the epicenter had an unusual effect; Physically, Maverik is a jagwere, but he has the fur pattern of a calico cat. Fortunately he maintained the other benefits of being a Jagwere. Like Xero and Jen, there was also an effect on his aura, but what exactly changed and how to harness it is stumping even Dr. Theodore Diggers.

Maverik is the thinker behind the trio when dealing with the problems the changed world has thought. While Xero and Jen aren't brainless nimrods, Maverik's usually the one who can think the negotiation angle to a further point than they can. He claims his psychiatric training helps greatly in this regard, and nobody with any ounce of sense is going to question that.


Extra note: The gear Maverik is wearing in the picture will be something seen rather late in GDU. What does it do? We'll keep that close to the chest and say nothing more than this: "Brianna-Tech." Being the thinking type, when Maverik suits up to bust some ehads, you KNOW the shit has hit the fan.
