'Armored' Gown

Rion had an idea from the moment she decided to leave for Jade what her combat gear would look like. Even before her change she'd been a fan of an anime series titled "Fate/Stay Night" and the idea of an armored dress based on Saber's had been appealing ever since she embraced her changes. Of course, she knew there would be changes to the original design to make it properly practical, but she still stuck with the idea.

Sasha had strongly recommended she get some magically crafted equipment - Rion did not object. If she was to follow in Sasha's footsteps in this world she can't afford to argue with the expert when she's only just arrived. However, the variation that Sasha had crafted was rather...different than what she had in mind.

"Isn't this a bit...impractical?" It most certainly was - the extremely wide skirt was floor-length and the hugely puffed out shoulders could actually impede her view in a combat situation. It was quite well-armored, despite being light as a feather -Rion couldn't tell if this was due to some magic metal or if she was really just that strong- with much of the leg armor hidden by the large skirt.

All in all, it didn't look so much like the knightly armored dress she'd envisioned so much as something a princess playing at being a knight might have. No helping thigns was that the breastplate left quite a bit of cleavage open to the world. Rion couldn't help but think that was likely done deliberately by her teacher.

And judging the look of amusement on Sasha's face, there was no doubt that was the case.

Fortunately, Sasha was not foolish enough to leave her pupil under equipped for the sake of a joke. "Very much so, in it's base state. But I cashed in a few favors to get you something very unique. Focus on the need to fight - imagine a number of bandits are descending upon you."

Rion took a moment to consider the suggested scenario, and much to her surprise, the outfit began to shift. The skirt retracted to a more manageable length, the chest armor grew over her exposed cleavage and extended pieces over the(suddenly shrunken) shoulder fabric, and the scabbards of her two giant claymores were now much more easily accessed.

Rion couldn't help but smile "now THAT'S more like it!"

Sasha appraised her charge's combat gear before filling her in on things, "This is made to be the only thing you'll ever need to wear outside of private company. It will never need cleaning, and can adjust itself for any situation needed - including a formal gathering where the armor is unnecessary," As she said this, Sasha noted with satisfaction that Rion's thought process had switched the otufit's configuration to suit the description, "up through a very simple sundress for relaxing in," Sasha held back her chuckle on the resulting look -she hadn't actually expected the dress to spawn a cute little hat at that thought- and even a little miniskirt for when you want to gather "other types of attention."

To Sasha's surprise, that last one actually resulted in the dress going back to it's normal state. Her confusion was only brief before she noticed the slightly embarrassed/surprised look in Rion's eyes as she was looking PAST Sasha. A quick look to the side and the answer came to her - Sheila Silvear had just entered their room. Sasha and Rion had been hired on to lend her group a hand with some troublemakers in the region. Rion had met the petite jagwere not long after arriving on Jade and it was abundantly clear she had fallen for her. It was less clear how Sheila felt about Rion, but Sasha had more than once caught Rion examining the jagwere in a way that spoke not to a sexual infatuation, but something deeper.

And it was kind of odd, too. Back on Earth, before the Phoenix Incident, Rion had been an aggressively hedonistic lesbian - not worried about relationships, just out to have as much fun in bed as she could. Not unlike Sasha herself, only without any men getting involved. Now here she was acting more than merely shy - she clearly had absolutely no idea how to approach the situation.

As Sheila began to fill them in on the matter, Sasha noted the pose that Rion had taken - hands clasped in front of her, subtly pushing out her chest as if trying to attract attention -also noticing that the breastplate armor had receded a few inches to expose a bit more cleavage- Sasha couldn't help but think the obvious...

"Guess she's more of a princess than I ever could have expected."

Blame Jen for this one. We really need to pull focus away from Rion, but she just couldn't help this one(doesn't help that I lvoe the Rion/Shiela relationship too much, as well). She came up with the bulk of this vignette, which I almost vetoed until Jen made a couple of good points.
